Prayer in tough times

 Luke 22:41-45

It is interesting here when the disciples couldn't do it; stay awake and pray with Him, God sent an angel to Him.  It is also interesting to note that this didn't stop the physical and emotional agony He was going through. Lord Jesus, help us to stay focused on You during the tough times.  Help us to understand how You feel about the world around us.  Give us Your love and compassion and help us to stand strong even when we're exhausted from sorrow.  Refresh us with a new understanding of Your love and sacrifice.  Amen

Herod

  Luke 23:8-12 This passage says a lot about Herod.  First of all he wanted to see Jesus because he had heard about Him.  Herod was hoping Jesus would perform a miracle for him but Jesus wasn't going to be played.  Jesus didn't answer Herod's questions and His accusers seemed to be heard by Herod so Herod started to mock Jesus but Herod didn't find anything wrong with him.  Herod sent Him back to Pilate,,,and what is interesting is Herod and Pilate became friends that day. Lord Jesus, when satan sends the mockers help us to be wise and know when to speak and when not to speak.  Give us the courage to stand for what is right, in Your time and way. Amen.

Fringe folk

  Luke 9:49-50 Have you ever noticed some non-church goers are amazing people, doing amazing things?  Jesus says, if they're not against us they're for us.  Lord Jesus, help us not to discourage people who are on the fringes of the church.  Help us see how they are helping in Your Kingdom and celebrate their goodness.
