How the news spreads

John 4:45

Remember Jesus had a hard time in His home town of Nazareth so He might have had a hard time in Galilee, as it's only 25 km from Nazareth, but folks from Galilee were in Jerusalem and saw Jesus in action.  I'm reminded of the phrase "you always have to be good because you never know who knows who"...or can I change it to "you always have to be good because you don't know who's watching".  The truth is people were observing Jesus and liked what they saw so they spread the good news.  How about you?  Are folks liking what they see?  Are they spreading the good news because of you?

Herod

  Luke 23:8-12 This passage says a lot about Herod.  First of all he wanted to see Jesus because he had heard about Him.  Herod was hoping Jesus would perform a miracle for him but Jesus wasn't going to be played.  Jesus didn't answer Herod's questions and His accusers seemed to be heard by Herod so Herod started to mock Jesus but Herod didn't find anything wrong with him.  Herod sent Him back to Pilate,,,and what is interesting is Herod and Pilate became friends that day. Lord Jesus, when satan sends the mockers help us to be wise and know when to speak and when not to speak.  Give us the courage to stand for what is right, in Your time and way. Amen.

Fringe folk

  Luke 9:49-50 Have you ever noticed some non-church goers are amazing people, doing amazing things?  Jesus says, if they're not against us they're for us.  Lord Jesus, help us not to discourage people who are on the fringes of the church.  Help us see how they are helping in Your Kingdom and celebrate their goodness.
