Are you ready?

 Luke 22:7-13

It was important for the disciples to celebrate Passover together but they had no place to do this.  In a surprising move Jesus tells them how to find a place.  The question for us is are we ready for Jesus to come to our house to celebrate Passover?  In this gift of hospitality the owner of the house only provided the space; the disciples prepared the rest.  What is our expectations of others?  Do we expect them to provide everything or just the space, or just the meal preparation, or just the... Lord Jesus, please help us to honour You by working together to prepare a place for You in our homes, hearts, and lives.

Herod

  Luke 23:8-12 This passage says a lot about Herod.  First of all he wanted to see Jesus because he had heard about Him.  Herod was hoping Jesus would perform a miracle for him but Jesus wasn't going to be played.  Jesus didn't answer Herod's questions and His accusers seemed to be heard by Herod so Herod started to mock Jesus but Herod didn't find anything wrong with him.  Herod sent Him back to Pilate,,,and what is interesting is Herod and Pilate became friends that day. Lord Jesus, when satan sends the mockers help us to be wise and know when to speak and when not to speak.  Give us the courage to stand for what is right, in Your time and way. Amen.

Fringe folk

  Luke 9:49-50 Have you ever noticed some non-church goers are amazing people, doing amazing things?  Jesus says, if they're not against us they're for us.  Lord Jesus, help us not to discourage people who are on the fringes of the church.  Help us see how they are helping in Your Kingdom and celebrate their goodness.
