An unfair trial

 Luke 22:66-71

The leaders want Him out of the picture so they try to trap Him and they crucify Him for answering their question

 “Are you then the Son of God?” He replied, “You say that I am.”

He didn't even claim to say that He was...but because they thought He was they crucified Him.

In this case it's hard to see that God is in charge when you don't know the ending to the story.  Yet God is still on His throne through all of this.  Lord Jesus, when we don't see You in action please help us to continue to believe that You are still on the throne planning better purposes for us than we ever dreamed of; and help us to remember satan asks to sift us at time.  Lord Jesus, during the times of sifting may the fruit of Your Holy Spirit show in incredible ways.   Amen.

Herod

  Luke 23:8-12 This passage says a lot about Herod.  First of all he wanted to see Jesus because he had heard about Him.  Herod was hoping Jesus would perform a miracle for him but Jesus wasn't going to be played.  Jesus didn't answer Herod's questions and His accusers seemed to be heard by Herod so Herod started to mock Jesus but Herod didn't find anything wrong with him.  Herod sent Him back to Pilate,,,and what is interesting is Herod and Pilate became friends that day. Lord Jesus, when satan sends the mockers help us to be wise and know when to speak and when not to speak.  Give us the courage to stand for what is right, in Your time and way. Amen.

Fringe folk

  Luke 9:49-50 Have you ever noticed some non-church goers are amazing people, doing amazing things?  Jesus says, if they're not against us they're for us.  Lord Jesus, help us not to discourage people who are on the fringes of the church.  Help us see how they are helping in Your Kingdom and celebrate their goodness.
