The story of the tenants

 Luke 20:9-19

Again, this is just a story, not fact, but a story none the less to teach a lesson.  What lessons can we learn from it?  One could be to not to take God for granted.  He provides the sun and the rain, the creativity for the growth of food etc so when we have abundance we must be ready to give something back to Him. Second, church leaders need to be careful who they reject.  God shows up in some very interesting people...including the Son of Man! Third, we need to be careful as to how we respond to Christ; we don't want His teachings to trip us up.  Lord Jesus, please help us to be generous with what we have and respond to Your teachings the way You want us do.  Also Lord, please help us to accept those You send to us.  Amen.

Herod

  Luke 23:8-12 This passage says a lot about Herod.  First of all he wanted to see Jesus because he had heard about Him.  Herod was hoping Jesus would perform a miracle for him but Jesus wasn't going to be played.  Jesus didn't answer Herod's questions and His accusers seemed to be heard by Herod so Herod started to mock Jesus but Herod didn't find anything wrong with him.  Herod sent Him back to Pilate,,,and what is interesting is Herod and Pilate became friends that day. Lord Jesus, when satan sends the mockers help us to be wise and know when to speak and when not to speak.  Give us the courage to stand for what is right, in Your time and way. Amen.

Fringe folk

  Luke 9:49-50 Have you ever noticed some non-church goers are amazing people, doing amazing things?  Jesus says, if they're not against us they're for us.  Lord Jesus, help us not to discourage people who are on the fringes of the church.  Help us see how they are helping in Your Kingdom and celebrate their goodness.
