Instant decisions

 Luke 17:30-40

It seems to me that when the Lord comes to rescue us it will be in an instant and we will have to make instant decisions.  The question is are we prepared for this?  Lord Jesus, please help us to be prepared for Your return.  Help us to focus on You and develop a love relationship with You such that this type of decision will be natural.  After your death Your disciples went back to what they knew.  You gave them grace and met them where they were at.  Please provide the same grace for us and teach us how to live in this world but how not to be part of this world.  Thanks.

Herod

  Luke 23:8-12 This passage says a lot about Herod.  First of all he wanted to see Jesus because he had heard about Him.  Herod was hoping Jesus would perform a miracle for him but Jesus wasn't going to be played.  Jesus didn't answer Herod's questions and His accusers seemed to be heard by Herod so Herod started to mock Jesus but Herod didn't find anything wrong with him.  Herod sent Him back to Pilate,,,and what is interesting is Herod and Pilate became friends that day. Lord Jesus, when satan sends the mockers help us to be wise and know when to speak and when not to speak.  Give us the courage to stand for what is right, in Your time and way. Amen.

Fringe folk

  Luke 9:49-50 Have you ever noticed some non-church goers are amazing people, doing amazing things?  Jesus says, if they're not against us they're for us.  Lord Jesus, help us not to discourage people who are on the fringes of the church.  Help us see how they are helping in Your Kingdom and celebrate their goodness.
