An attitude of gratitude

 Luke 17:11-19

This passage is a reminder to have an attitude of gratitude.  Is it true that only 10% of people have an attitude of gratitude?  Is it also true that if we give thanks we are healthier?  I wonder if any studies have been done on this.  What is also interesting is the person giving thanks is a foreigner.  It makes me think of people who are on the fringe of the church.  Do they show us up by giving thanks more than those going to church?  Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for coming to earth; surrendering everything just to connect with us.  Help us not to take You for granted.  Your death was so sacrificial and it is so cool that your conquered death by rising again.  Thank You for Your obedience to God the Father.  Thank You for how You have provided for me and protected me through the years.   You are amazing!

Herod

  Luke 23:8-12 This passage says a lot about Herod.  First of all he wanted to see Jesus because he had heard about Him.  Herod was hoping Jesus would perform a miracle for him but Jesus wasn't going to be played.  Jesus didn't answer Herod's questions and His accusers seemed to be heard by Herod so Herod started to mock Jesus but Herod didn't find anything wrong with him.  Herod sent Him back to Pilate,,,and what is interesting is Herod and Pilate became friends that day. Lord Jesus, when satan sends the mockers help us to be wise and know when to speak and when not to speak.  Give us the courage to stand for what is right, in Your time and way. Amen.

Fringe folk

  Luke 9:49-50 Have you ever noticed some non-church goers are amazing people, doing amazing things?  Jesus says, if they're not against us they're for us.  Lord Jesus, help us not to discourage people who are on the fringes of the church.  Help us see how they are helping in Your Kingdom and celebrate their goodness.
