What is your city known for?

Luke 13:31-35 

Jesus highlights that Jerusalem is known for killing prophets.  He was warned not to go there because of it but He went about His Father's business instead.  It's interesting that He has a passion for Jerusalem but the people don't want Him.  This makes me wonder what each of our cities are know for.  I've prayed passionately for my city.  I want it to be a city known for it's faith and healthy love, not violence, theft, drugs and sexual promiscuity.  Lord Jesus please protect our cities from satan.  Raise up people with a practical faith.  Show us where we can met to connect and share our love for You.

Herod

  Luke 23:8-12 This passage says a lot about Herod.  First of all he wanted to see Jesus because he had heard about Him.  Herod was hoping Jesus would perform a miracle for him but Jesus wasn't going to be played.  Jesus didn't answer Herod's questions and His accusers seemed to be heard by Herod so Herod started to mock Jesus but Herod didn't find anything wrong with him.  Herod sent Him back to Pilate,,,and what is interesting is Herod and Pilate became friends that day. Lord Jesus, when satan sends the mockers help us to be wise and know when to speak and when not to speak.  Give us the courage to stand for what is right, in Your time and way. Amen.

Fringe folk

  Luke 9:49-50 Have you ever noticed some non-church goers are amazing people, doing amazing things?  Jesus says, if they're not against us they're for us.  Lord Jesus, help us not to discourage people who are on the fringes of the church.  Help us see how they are helping in Your Kingdom and celebrate their goodness.
