The lost has been found; rejoice!

 Luke 15:11-32

Jesus told this story to illustrate a point...He cares for the lost.  It is  interesting to note though that the Father waited for the lost to return to Him.  He didn't go to him.  Lord Jesus, please implore those who have left You to return on their own accord.

This passage leaves us with an interesting question...what about those who have never left the fold.  Jesus says to us we have everything that belongs to Him.  This makes me ask the question are we enjoying our time in the Kingdom?  We have the fruit of the Holy Spirit available to us; love, joy, peace, gentleness, kindness, self control, goodness, patience and faithfulness  Let us walk with the Spirit and enjoy the adventure God has for us so we can rejoice when those who walked away come back.

Herod

  Luke 23:8-12 This passage says a lot about Herod.  First of all he wanted to see Jesus because he had heard about Him.  Herod was hoping Jesus would perform a miracle for him but Jesus wasn't going to be played.  Jesus didn't answer Herod's questions and His accusers seemed to be heard by Herod so Herod started to mock Jesus but Herod didn't find anything wrong with him.  Herod sent Him back to Pilate,,,and what is interesting is Herod and Pilate became friends that day. Lord Jesus, when satan sends the mockers help us to be wise and know when to speak and when not to speak.  Give us the courage to stand for what is right, in Your time and way. Amen.

Fringe folk

  Luke 9:49-50 Have you ever noticed some non-church goers are amazing people, doing amazing things?  Jesus says, if they're not against us they're for us.  Lord Jesus, help us not to discourage people who are on the fringes of the church.  Help us see how they are helping in Your Kingdom and celebrate their goodness.
