Whoever has been forgiven little loves little

 Luke 7:36-50

This is an awkward story for me. I can’t imagine someone kissing my feet! :-) Yet Jesus let this sinful woman clean his feet with her tears and kiss his feet. It doesn’t say what the woman’s sins were but I would hazard to guess she was a prostitute. This too I’m uncomfortable with. A sinful woman that close to my Lord and Saviour, so I can relate to Simon. Yet Jesus is so right when he connects the size of the debt to the amount of love. I was throughly blessed to be able to run Alpha at the women’s prison. To observe the love there was a treat.

Lord Jesus please help us to love those You love. Teach us how to be in the world but not of the world and Lord, show us how to love You more...without having to sin and be forgiven :-)

Herod

  Luke 23:8-12 This passage says a lot about Herod.  First of all he wanted to see Jesus because he had heard about Him.  Herod was hoping Jesus would perform a miracle for him but Jesus wasn't going to be played.  Jesus didn't answer Herod's questions and His accusers seemed to be heard by Herod so Herod started to mock Jesus but Herod didn't find anything wrong with him.  Herod sent Him back to Pilate,,,and what is interesting is Herod and Pilate became friends that day. Lord Jesus, when satan sends the mockers help us to be wise and know when to speak and when not to speak.  Give us the courage to stand for what is right, in Your time and way. Amen.

  Luke 9:49-50 Have you ever noticed some non-church goers are amazing people, doing amazing things?  Jesus says, if they're not against us they're for us.  Lord Jesus, help us not to discourage people who are on the fringes of the church.  Help us see how they are helping in Your Kingdom and celebrate their goodness.
