To drink or not to drink

 Luke 7:31-35

Let wisdom rule here. There are always people who will judge your actions so ultimately it’s best to decide what you are going to do before God. John didn’t drink and they said he had a demon. Jesus did drank and they said he was a glutton and a drunkard...but Jesus point was in all their judging they were missing the good things of God. Lord, are we I. The same boat...worrying so much about the sins of others we are missing the good things You have to offer? Please open our eyes and show us how to participate in Your dance today.

Herod

  Luke 23:8-12 This passage says a lot about Herod.  First of all he wanted to see Jesus because he had heard about Him.  Herod was hoping Jesus would perform a miracle for him but Jesus wasn't going to be played.  Jesus didn't answer Herod's questions and His accusers seemed to be heard by Herod so Herod started to mock Jesus but Herod didn't find anything wrong with him.  Herod sent Him back to Pilate,,,and what is interesting is Herod and Pilate became friends that day. Lord Jesus, when satan sends the mockers help us to be wise and know when to speak and when not to speak.  Give us the courage to stand for what is right, in Your time and way. Amen.

Fringe folk

  Luke 9:49-50 Have you ever noticed some non-church goers are amazing people, doing amazing things?  Jesus says, if they're not against us they're for us.  Lord Jesus, help us not to discourage people who are on the fringes of the church.  Help us see how they are helping in Your Kingdom and celebrate their goodness.
