The miracle in between

 Luke 8:40-56

Jesus was now famous.  His power to heal was out and so were the crowds.  So how did Jesus know when someone touched Him for the purpose of healing; He lost power.  Interesting eh!  It cost Jesus something to heal yet He still went on healing.  

What's also interesting is He didn't want people to know about His power to heal.  He kept telling folks to keep it quiet.  Was this because He was afraid of the temptation to think the power came from Himself as opposed to God His Father or was this because He was modeling to us humility? Either way I think it's something for us to note and model.

Herod

  Luke 23:8-12 This passage says a lot about Herod.  First of all he wanted to see Jesus because he had heard about Him.  Herod was hoping Jesus would perform a miracle for him but Jesus wasn't going to be played.  Jesus didn't answer Herod's questions and His accusers seemed to be heard by Herod so Herod started to mock Jesus but Herod didn't find anything wrong with him.  Herod sent Him back to Pilate,,,and what is interesting is Herod and Pilate became friends that day. Lord Jesus, when satan sends the mockers help us to be wise and know when to speak and when not to speak.  Give us the courage to stand for what is right, in Your time and way. Amen.

  Luke 9:49-50 Have you ever noticed some non-church goers are amazing people, doing amazing things?  Jesus says, if they're not against us they're for us.  Lord Jesus, help us not to discourage people who are on the fringes of the church.  Help us see how they are helping in Your Kingdom and celebrate their goodness.
