The faith of an outsider

 Luke 7:1-10

This story is interesting because Jesus highlights this man’s faith as impressive even though he wasn’t a Jew. How many times has someone outside of the church shone in their actions and faith in our circles? This is a mystery to me. Why is Jesus finding incredible faith outside of the Jewish community? It highlights the fact that we shouldn’t limit God to our own communities. Lord Jesus please help us to see the people of faith even if they don’t belong to our church Or temple.

Herod

  Luke 23:8-12 This passage says a lot about Herod.  First of all he wanted to see Jesus because he had heard about Him.  Herod was hoping Jesus would perform a miracle for him but Jesus wasn't going to be played.  Jesus didn't answer Herod's questions and His accusers seemed to be heard by Herod so Herod started to mock Jesus but Herod didn't find anything wrong with him.  Herod sent Him back to Pilate,,,and what is interesting is Herod and Pilate became friends that day. Lord Jesus, when satan sends the mockers help us to be wise and know when to speak and when not to speak.  Give us the courage to stand for what is right, in Your time and way. Amen.

Fringe folk

  Luke 9:49-50 Have you ever noticed some non-church goers are amazing people, doing amazing things?  Jesus says, if they're not against us they're for us.  Lord Jesus, help us not to discourage people who are on the fringes of the church.  Help us see how they are helping in Your Kingdom and celebrate their goodness.
