Setting the scene

 Luke 5:17

It's interesting to note here that the leaders of the temple had come to hear Jesus.  It also sounds like there were a number of them because it says they came from every village in Galilee and Judea.  They wanted to know what Jesus was up to and Jesus had the power to heal upon Him.  What would you do if you had the gift of healing and you weren't a doctor or nurse?  Would you understand that this was greater than a physical thing and realize that it is ultimately about spiritual healing?  Lord Jesus please raise up spiritual healers in Your Kingdom today.  Thanks

Herod

  Luke 23:8-12 This passage says a lot about Herod.  First of all he wanted to see Jesus because he had heard about Him.  Herod was hoping Jesus would perform a miracle for him but Jesus wasn't going to be played.  Jesus didn't answer Herod's questions and His accusers seemed to be heard by Herod so Herod started to mock Jesus but Herod didn't find anything wrong with him.  Herod sent Him back to Pilate,,,and what is interesting is Herod and Pilate became friends that day. Lord Jesus, when satan sends the mockers help us to be wise and know when to speak and when not to speak.  Give us the courage to stand for what is right, in Your time and way. Amen.

Fringe folk

  Luke 9:49-50 Have you ever noticed some non-church goers are amazing people, doing amazing things?  Jesus says, if they're not against us they're for us.  Lord Jesus, help us not to discourage people who are on the fringes of the church.  Help us see how they are helping in Your Kingdom and celebrate their goodness.
