Another personal miracle

 Luke 5:12-15

During this time of covid I’m reminded of the healers in our culture who dare to embrace the sick. That’s what Jesus is doing here. A leper was an outcast in society for fear that others would catch the disease yet Jesus was willing to to help him and ultimately heal him. I find it interesting that Jesus again, didn’t want the publicity. He just wanted to heal an individual...but when the news got out He became very popular. How about us? Are we willing to do the right thing without seeking attention? At times I just want the world to know that Jesus is alive and loves them...but then I’m reminded that actions speak louder than words. “May the words of our mouths and the meditations of our heart be acceptable in Your sight oh Lord”

Herod

  Luke 23:8-12 This passage says a lot about Herod.  First of all he wanted to see Jesus because he had heard about Him.  Herod was hoping Jesus would perform a miracle for him but Jesus wasn't going to be played.  Jesus didn't answer Herod's questions and His accusers seemed to be heard by Herod so Herod started to mock Jesus but Herod didn't find anything wrong with him.  Herod sent Him back to Pilate,,,and what is interesting is Herod and Pilate became friends that day. Lord Jesus, when satan sends the mockers help us to be wise and know when to speak and when not to speak.  Give us the courage to stand for what is right, in Your time and way. Amen.

Fringe folk

  Luke 9:49-50 Have you ever noticed some non-church goers are amazing people, doing amazing things?  Jesus says, if they're not against us they're for us.  Lord Jesus, help us not to discourage people who are on the fringes of the church.  Help us see how they are helping in Your Kingdom and celebrate their goodness.
