A life changing thank you

 Luke 5:4-11

I suspect as a thank you to Peter Jesus gave him a fishing experience like non other...You’d think Peter would want to capitalize on Jesus fishing miracle but he didn’t. He recognized Jesus as a Holy man because he told Jesus to leave him because Peter was a sinful man. Jesus response, however, was to call Peter into the ministry of fishing men (and women).  So how would you respond if you encountered a work miracle that made you wealthier than you’d been before. Would you try to capitalize on it or would you recognize where you stood before God?...and after recognizing that God was performing the work miracle would you give up your job to follow Him? This is another personal story so God may only be calling Peter to follow Him...but you and I need to be open to God calling us. May God reach us in His typical personal way this Christmas,

Herod

  Luke 23:8-12 This passage says a lot about Herod.  First of all he wanted to see Jesus because he had heard about Him.  Herod was hoping Jesus would perform a miracle for him but Jesus wasn't going to be played.  Jesus didn't answer Herod's questions and His accusers seemed to be heard by Herod so Herod started to mock Jesus but Herod didn't find anything wrong with him.  Herod sent Him back to Pilate,,,and what is interesting is Herod and Pilate became friends that day. Lord Jesus, when satan sends the mockers help us to be wise and know when to speak and when not to speak.  Give us the courage to stand for what is right, in Your time and way. Amen.

Fringe folk

  Luke 9:49-50 Have you ever noticed some non-church goers are amazing people, doing amazing things?  Jesus says, if they're not against us they're for us.  Lord Jesus, help us not to discourage people who are on the fringes of the church.  Help us see how they are helping in Your Kingdom and celebrate their goodness.
