Demons in the church

Luke 4:33-36
I find it fascinating that there were demons in the temple yet I shouldn't be surprised. The church/temple is meant to be a place where people go to find healing. It's meant to be a hospital for the spiritually sick. What is interesting is the demon knew who Jesus was; "the Holy One of God" and it feared for it's life. The demon also knew Jesus had authority over it...even though it threw the man to the ground as it was being cast out. This spectacular confrontation with evil had the people impressed with Jesus. Lord Jesus, may we confront evil in such a way that You are glorified. Give us your wisdom and guidance, one day at a time. Amen

If you're up you will come down

  Luke 6:25   I find these teachings of Jesus interesting.  He seems to be saying if you're up you will come down but if you're down you will go up.  Is He saying life is full of it's ups and downs so recognize that when you're up be careful because you will come down?  Lord Jesus, help us to appreciate our ups knowing that with every up there is a down. Thanks.

Our neighbour

  Luke 10:29-37 During this year of covid we've been forced to slow down.  I'm wondering if it's helping us to see our neighbours in need.  Lord Jesus, please help us not to be so busy going about Your work we miss seeing our neighbours in need.
