My Father's business

Luke 2:48-50
"I need to be about My Father's business". Is that how we feel today? Do we need to be about the business of God? Jesus at 12 tried to tell His parents but they didn't understand. Mary however, ponder them in her mind. Sometimes being about our Father's business means other in our lives don't understand. Even so, remember the hierarchy of authority (Jesus obeyed His parents), and go about Our Father's business; watching and pondering as others too go about our Father's business. Lord Jesus, please help us submit to those in authority over us at the same time as going about our Father's business, in Jesus name.

Herod

  Luke 23:8-12 This passage says a lot about Herod.  First of all he wanted to see Jesus because he had heard about Him.  Herod was hoping Jesus would perform a miracle for him but Jesus wasn't going to be played.  Jesus didn't answer Herod's questions and His accusers seemed to be heard by Herod so Herod started to mock Jesus but Herod didn't find anything wrong with him.  Herod sent Him back to Pilate,,,and what is interesting is Herod and Pilate became friends that day. Lord Jesus, when satan sends the mockers help us to be wise and know when to speak and when not to speak.  Give us the courage to stand for what is right, in Your time and way. Amen.

Fringe folk

  Luke 9:49-50 Have you ever noticed some non-church goers are amazing people, doing amazing things?  Jesus says, if they're not against us they're for us.  Lord Jesus, help us not to discourage people who are on the fringes of the church.  Help us see how they are helping in Your Kingdom and celebrate their goodness.
