He was placed in a manger

Luke 2:7

From ruling the universe to being placed in a feeding trough...this is the length of humility God went to for us.Things could have been different if Mary could have moved faster or if they could afford the price of making advanced reservations but this didn't happen. There was no room for Christ in the inn but there was room for Him amongst the poor. Lord Jesus, our culture has a hard year ahead of them and as a result we need to know where to spend our time and money. Please help us to use it wisely in Your Kingdom.

Herod

  Luke 23:8-12 This passage says a lot about Herod.  First of all he wanted to see Jesus because he had heard about Him.  Herod was hoping Jesus would perform a miracle for him but Jesus wasn't going to be played.  Jesus didn't answer Herod's questions and His accusers seemed to be heard by Herod so Herod started to mock Jesus but Herod didn't find anything wrong with him.  Herod sent Him back to Pilate,,,and what is interesting is Herod and Pilate became friends that day. Lord Jesus, when satan sends the mockers help us to be wise and know when to speak and when not to speak.  Give us the courage to stand for what is right, in Your time and way. Amen.

Fringe folk

  Luke 9:49-50 Have you ever noticed some non-church goers are amazing people, doing amazing things?  Jesus says, if they're not against us they're for us.  Lord Jesus, help us not to discourage people who are on the fringes of the church.  Help us see how they are helping in Your Kingdom and celebrate their goodness.
