A positive is perceived negatively

Luke 1:28-29 


It is interesting that good words

"Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”

and the visit of an angel would be perceived as negative but they bothered Mary.  

Have we ever done this?  Turned a positive into a negative?  Maybe we think it's too good to be true.  Maybe we think someone is trying to manipulate us.  Maybe we think we're not worthy of the news.  Maybe the unknown just makes us feel unworthy.  Whatever it is, remember God wants the best for us so look out for it and don't be troubled by it...and wonder about it.

Herod

  Luke 23:8-12 This passage says a lot about Herod.  First of all he wanted to see Jesus because he had heard about Him.  Herod was hoping Jesus would perform a miracle for him but Jesus wasn't going to be played.  Jesus didn't answer Herod's questions and His accusers seemed to be heard by Herod so Herod started to mock Jesus but Herod didn't find anything wrong with him.  Herod sent Him back to Pilate,,,and what is interesting is Herod and Pilate became friends that day. Lord Jesus, when satan sends the mockers help us to be wise and know when to speak and when not to speak.  Give us the courage to stand for what is right, in Your time and way. Amen.

Fringe folk

  Luke 9:49-50 Have you ever noticed some non-church goers are amazing people, doing amazing things?  Jesus says, if they're not against us they're for us.  Lord Jesus, help us not to discourage people who are on the fringes of the church.  Help us see how they are helping in Your Kingdom and celebrate their goodness.
