John the Messiah?

Luke 3:15-16 NIV
"15 The people were waiting expectantly and were all wondering in their hearts if John might possibly be the Messiah. 16 John answered them all, “I baptize you with[a] water. But one who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire."

It is interesting that the disciples weren't baptized by the Holy Spirit and fire until after Jesus left the earth. Is it true that Jesus had all of the Holy Spirit with Him so the Holy Spirit could only be released to others after His return to heaven? Is it true that since Jesus baptizes with the Holy Spirit and fire we no longer need water baptism?

Acts 2:2
"2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[a] as the Spirit enabled them."

Lord Jesus, we recognize You as the Messiah so please guide and direct us with Your Holy Spirit. Amen

If you're up you will come down

  Luke 6:25   I find these teachings of Jesus interesting.  He seems to be saying if you're up you will come down but if you're down you will go up.  Is He saying life is full of it's ups and downs so recognize that when you're up be careful because you will come down?  Lord Jesus, help us to appreciate our ups knowing that with every up there is a down. Thanks.

  Luke 10:29-37 During this year of covid we've been forced to slow down.  I'm wondering if it's helping us to see our neighbours in need.  Lord Jesus, please help us not to be so busy going about Your work we miss seeing our neighbours in need.
