Mary leaves after 3 months

It's interesting that Mary only stayed with Elizabeth for 3 months. This means she would have left around the time John was born.  It also means that she would have left as she started to show.  I always thought she went to Elizabeth's to hide from cultural shame but this is obviously not the case. Her shame was only from Joseph knowing he wasn't the father.  Because they were engaged, in their cultural, they could have sex so the cultural would have thought the baby was Joseph's.

Herod

  Luke 23:8-12 This passage says a lot about Herod.  First of all he wanted to see Jesus because he had heard about Him.  Herod was hoping Jesus would perform a miracle for him but Jesus wasn't going to be played.  Jesus didn't answer Herod's questions and His accusers seemed to be heard by Herod so Herod started to mock Jesus but Herod didn't find anything wrong with him.  Herod sent Him back to Pilate,,,and what is interesting is Herod and Pilate became friends that day. Lord Jesus, when satan sends the mockers help us to be wise and know when to speak and when not to speak.  Give us the courage to stand for what is right, in Your time and way. Amen.

  Luke 9:49-50 Have you ever noticed some non-church goers are amazing people, doing amazing things?  Jesus says, if they're not against us they're for us.  Lord Jesus, help us not to discourage people who are on the fringes of the church.  Help us see how they are helping in Your Kingdom and celebrate their goodness.
